Full Job Description

Medical Receptionist-General Dermatology

Busy dermatology practice looking for excited individuals to join our front office/scheduler team. This role is responsible for both front office and telephone scheduler duties based on the needs of the practice.

Ideal candidates should have previous clerical and telephone operating experience within the medical field. Familiarity with health insurance is a plus. Detail orientation and the ability to multi-task is preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage front desk patient flow

2. Check-in of scheduled patients

3. Complete patient registration including demographics, collecting and updating insurance and other pertinent information as directed by the practice

4. Verifying and entering referring and primary care providers as well as the patient’s pharmacy

5. Verifying insurance eligibility prior to the visit. Ensure if referral is required, one has been secured prior to the patient presenting to the office.

6. Collect Co-pays and outstanding balances

7. Schedule appointments including walk-in appointments

8. Assist with check-out of patients

9. Reschedule appointments

10. Assist staff members in other tasks as assigned

11. Some travel may be required. Currently, our front desk staff work out of Cromwell, Avon, and South Windsor.

Required:

· Data entry and ability to use an EMR

· Strong telephone and customer service skills.

Desired:

· MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook skills.

· Knowledge of medical terminology

· Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations

· Some billing experience preferred

Education: HS Graduate or Equivalent

Pay: $37,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
