MRI Technologist

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong recent hospital experience, advanced MRI imaging skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute-care environment.

Job Details

Position: MRI Technologist
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts
Shift Time: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 2, 2026

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
Recent hospital experience required
Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
ARRT-MR certification required
BLS certification required
Strong experience with:
Abdomen and pelvis MRI
Female and male pelvis
Brain and head/neck imaging
Cervical, lumbar, and thoracic spine
Musculoskeletal MRI, including hip, knee, and shoulder
Diffusion imaging
Gradient echo imaging
MIP and MRP
Peripheral MR angiography
Spin echo imaging
Surface coils
T1- and T2-weighted imaging
CINE studies
Experience with GE and Siemens MRI equipment
Must be comfortable working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Must be flexible with floating and unit-based scheduling needs
NC or Compact license pending may be accepted for submission

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to established protocols and safety standards.
Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
Operate GE and Siemens MRI equipment effectively.
Perform imaging of the brain, spine, abdomen, pelvis, chest, head and neck, and musculoskeletal system.
Complete specialized MRI procedures, including diffusion, gradient echo, MIP, MRP, CINE, and peripheral MR angiography.
Review images for quality and completeness and perform appropriate image post-processing.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic system.
Follow MRI safety procedures and departmental protocols.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Float to affiliated locations as required.
Participate in emergency, storm, hurricane, mass-casualty, or disaster response requirements when assigned.
Complete required orientation, pre-start modules, and compliance requirements within specified timelines.
Maintain professionalism, patient confidentiality, and a high standard of patient care throughout the assignment.

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,500.00 per week
