Full Job Description

Community Health Alliance is looking for full-time Director of Clinical Operations.

Join our talented team of healthcare professionals that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income.

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.

The Director of Clinical Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for Community Health Alliance's (CHA) clinical support operations, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and standardized patient care delivery across all health center locations. This position oversees Medical Assistants, Medical Assistant Supervisors, the Nurse Manager, Reproductive Health team, Community Health Workers, and other designated clinical support staff. The Director is responsible for workforce development, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, quality improvement, and implementation of standardized clinical workflows that support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) principles and organizational objectives.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or another related clinical field from an accredited institution. Current licensure or certification in the applicable clinical discipline is required.

Licensure

Current unrestricted Nevada clinical license.
Current CPR certification.
Valid Nevada driver's license.

Experience

Five years progressively responsible ambulatory healthcare experience.
Three years leadership experience.
Experience leading multiple clinic locations preferred.
Experience with quality improvement preferred.
Experience with regulatory compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of ambulatory healthcare operations, including clinical workflows, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) principles, and team-based care models.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, infection prevention standards, Nevada Immunization Program requirements, and other healthcare compliance requirements.
Knowledge of clinical support operations, including Medical Assistant scope of practice, medical terminology, clinical laboratory processes, and healthcare documentation standards.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems, Microsoft Office applications, and healthcare reporting tools with the ability to analyze operational and quality performance data.
Strong leadership and management skills, including employee coaching, performance management, conflict resolution, employee engagement, succession planning, and team development.
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple clinical operations simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, manage resources effectively, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, evaluate data, develop process improvements, and implement effective operational solutions.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, providers, leadership, patients, and community partners from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across departments to support organizational goals, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-centered care.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and make independent decisions while demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and successfully lead organizational initiatives.
Ability to develop, train, mentor, and evaluate staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and operational excellence.
