Step into the heart of downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina, where a unique opportunity awaits you at our boutique family law firm. We're on the hunt for a dynamic Legal Assistant to join our team. As a Legal Assistant in our firm, you'll serve as a key ambassador of our firm, embodying our values and mission in every interaction. You will work closely with our Managing Partner and serve as the vital conduit between our esteemed attorneys, valued clients, and fellow legal professionals. We're looking for someone who embodies professionalism, possesses exceptional communication skills, and can juggle multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Previous experience in a legal or executive assistant role would be advantageous, but it's your drive and dedication we're truly interested in.

Your Daily Responsibilities

Case Management Extraordinaire: You'll work in coordination with our attorneys, ensuring all necessary information for hearings, litigation, mediation, and other cases are meticulously prepared and organized. You'll also be the go-to person for scheduling and information gathering for mediation cases and will assist the Managing Partner in maintaining a detailed case status log to keep track of deadlines.

Master of Drafting: You'll have the opportunity to flex your writing muscles by creating preliminary drafts of letters and organizing data collected from client forms and worksheets. Experience in preparing information for trials and depositions, as well as drafting pleadings, Orders, and related documents, is a bonus, but not required.

Financial Stewardship: You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate payment records for client cases and other matters handled by our firm, ensuring all payments are recorded and the firm receipt books are properly maintained.

You hold at least a High School Diploma, but perhaps you've ventured further into the realms of junior college or university.

You've dipped your toes in the legal world before, either in a law firm, legal services agency, or as an executive assistant. If not, no worries - we value potential and good attitudes over your past experiences.

You're a proud holder of a valid South Carolina Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.

You're a whiz with computers, and if those computers happen to be Macs, even better.

Experience in litigation and/or a family law practice would be a feather in your cap, but it's not a must.
