Nelson Auto Group / Red Rock Auto is seeking experienced Automotive Technicians/Mechanics to join our growing team across multiple dealership locations in North Dakota and Minnesota. Experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent required
● 2–3 years of hands-on automotive technician experience preferred
● Must possess a valid driver’s license
● Must have own tools
● Automotive training preferred (technical school, vocational training, college automotive program, OEM training, or similar)
● ASE certifications preferred; Master Technician certification is a plus
● Dealership experience preferred, especially with Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, or Buick brands
● Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills involving engine, drivability, electrical, suspension, brake, HVAC, and computerized vehicle systems
● Ability to work independently while collaborating with service advisors, shop foremen, and management
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction
Experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic Responsibilities
● Diagnose, maintain, and repair Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Buick vehicles according to manufacturer standards
● Perform repairs involving engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, heating, and air conditioning systems
● Utilize OEM diagnostic tools, scan tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle concerns
● Inspect vehicles thoroughly and perform quality checks before returning vehicles to customers
● Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper vehicle performance
● Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding repair status, recommended repairs, and estimated completion times
● Provide accurate labor and repair estimates when additional concerns are identified
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while meeting efficiency and productivity standards
