Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)

Revive Counseling Spokane – Spokane, WA
Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Position Overview

Revive Counseling Spokane is hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to provide peer support, recovery coaching, and behavioral health services to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

This role uses lived experience to support others, promote recovery, and improve access to services in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 peer support for mental health and substance use recovery
Share lived experience, coping tools, and recovery strategies
Support goal setting, recovery planning, and wellness strategies
Promote self-advocacy, empowerment, and independence
Facilitate or assist with peer support groups and community outreach
Provide crisis support, de-escalation, and safety planning
Coordinate with clinical teams, case managers, and community resources
Maintain accurate documentation and service notes (EHR)
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training

Required Qualifications

Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or Peer Recovery Coach
Active CAAR or CPSS license (Washington State)
Active NPI number and prior HCA credentialing
Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery principles
Strong communication, engagement, and boundary-setting skills
Ability to work in team-based behavioral health settings
Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience in behavioral health, outreach, or case management
Familiarity with co-occurring disorders and harm reduction
Experience working with homeless, justice-involved, or high-acuity populations

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Range: $24 – 28/Hour, depending on experience
PTO: 80 hours vacation + sick leave + 8 paid holidays
Health Insurance: Medical, dental, vision (after 90 days)
401(k): 3% employer match (after 1 year)
