POSITION SUMMARY

Sequoia Detox Centers is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Professional to provide quality services using evidence-based practices to effectively meet patients’ needs. This role also establishes individual client treatment plans that cover discharge planning and progress toward goals and documents service provisions in a timely and effective manner. The ideal candidate for this job has experience delivering high-quality counseling and therapy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver services as assigned by and under the supervision of Clinical director
Comply with documentation requirements as outlined in organizational policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation of service objectives and outcomes and verify patient files are accurate, organized and updated.
Collaborate with other staff members, community agencies and family members.
Work to uphold organizational values and beliefs, using evidenced-based practices when delivering services to patients.
Ensure patient rights and privacy are protected and confidentiality upheld according to organizational policies and procedures, state law and federal regulations to include Confidentiality on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients Records, 42 CFR Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164.
Coordinate intake documentation and introduces patients to the facility.
Work with patients to assess strengths/weaknesses, develop individualized plan, examine alternative solutions and establish immediate and long-term goals.
Facilitate and maintain productive communication with patients while adhering to strict boundaries and professional ethics.
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using cognitive-based intervention strategies.
Participate in regularly-scheduled team meetings and trainings.
Perform other duties as assigned or within program scope.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) and licensed through the Washington State Department of Health with license in good standing.
Leadership background.
Pass pre-employment criminal background check, including additional search by DSHS. As Well as a drug screening to include marijuana.
Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and ability to operate company vehicle without restriction.
Understand and implement Washington Administrative Codes (WAC).
Familiar with American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria.
Partner with outside resources including managed care, referral sources, educational systems and probation departments.
Maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.
Establish effective working relationships with coworkers and supervisors.
Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to multitask within fast-paced environment.
Use excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of addiction, treatment and recovery.
Adhere to the belief that alcoholism and addiction are primary and treatable diseases constituting a public health concern affecting families and communities.
Subscribe to the philosophy of a harm-reduction approach for recovered and recovering individuals with a substance use disorder.
Manage chemically-dependent and challenging individuals empathetically, compassionately and non-judgmentally.
Understand and adhere to state and federal confidentiality regulations, including Confidentiality on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients Records, 42 CFR Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164.
Sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient-related information.
