This is a combined posting for a Patient Authorization and Referral Representative and Senior Patient Authorization and Referral Representative. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Consideration for each role will be based on qualifications. Referral Specialist initiates a variety of external and internal referral processing and skilled clerical duties in support of the PMG physician offices. Communicate with internal and external medical offices and insurance companies to ensure provider referral requests are processed timely and accurately. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.
Senior Patient Authorization and Referral Specialist initiates a variety of external and internal complex referral processing and skilled clerical duties in support of procedural and/or surgery scheduling within the PMG specialty clinics. Communicate with internal and external medical offices and insurance companies to ensure provider referral requests are processed timely and accurately. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Patient Authorization and Referral Representative
Required Qualifications:
1 year Experience in the medical field.
1 year Electronic Medical Record experience.
1 year Referral processing experience.
Salary Range : Min: $19.97, Max : $30.54
Senior Patient Authorization and Referral Representative
Required Qualifications:
2 years of experience in healthcare setting with increased responsibilities or customer service type role.
1 year of Referral processing experience.
1 year of Authorization and medical insurance experience.
Salary Range : Min: $22.45 , Max :$34.36

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
