Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic General Manager of Umi Sushi to lead our vibrant dining establishment. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional customer experiences, managing daily operations, and inspiring a dedicated team of hospitality professionals. Your leadership will drive the restaurant’s success by ensuring seamless service, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and fostering a positive environment that encourages growth and excellence. Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service delivery, and staff management to ensure smooth daily functioning.
Lead and motivate a diverse team of restaurant staff, including servers, cooks, bartenders, and supervisors, fostering a culture of teamwork and high performance.
Implement and monitor food safety standards in compliance with health regulations; conduct regular training on food handling and sanitation procedures.
Utilize POS systems for order processing, cash handling, sales tracking, and reporting.
Conduct staff training sessions on customer service excellence, food production techniques, and operational procedures to enhance team skills.
Analyze profit and loss statements to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction; develop strategies aligned with business goals.
Oversee shift management by scheduling staff efficiently to meet customer demand during peak hours while controlling labor costs.
Ensure the restaurant maintains a welcoming atmosphere suitable for casual dining, fine dining, catering events, or banquet services as applicable.
Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction; promote positive guest experiences consistently.

Experience

Proven management experience in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining environments with a strong track record of supervising hospitality teams.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety management, and kitchen operations.
Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; proficiency in cash handling and sales reporting is essential.
Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and food cost management.
Background in hospitality management with experience overseeing restaurant operations including staffing, training & development, and shift management.
Prior experience in fine dining or hotel food service environments is highly desirable; familiarity with catering or banquet services is a plus.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to interview candidates, train staff effectively, and manage diverse teams confidently.
Knowledge of food industry standards related to food safety regulations; commitment to maintaining high-quality food handling practices.
