Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As the Lead Cook, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that meals are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Your leadership will help guide our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Plan and prepare menus that meet dietary needs and preferences.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Ensure all food handling and safety regulations are strictly followed.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, including dietary aides, in food service techniques.
Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requests.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Assist in meal preparation during peak service times to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a restaurant or similar setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Experience with menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in food handling or culinary arts is a plus.
