ARIAS is looking for a Laboratory Technician for their Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing departments. This is a full time position on weekdays with some hours on the weekends if needed. POSITION SUMMARY
Perform laboratory testing to support Arias’ objectives of meeting “Clients” expectations in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform calibrations of laboratory equipment
Ensure that all equipment is calibrated and in good working condition
Assist and maintain the laboratory accreditations
Be proficient in performing laboratory testing of Soil, Concrete, and Asphalt as per the applicable ASTM, TxDOT, and AASHTO
Make required calculations test data as per the applicable ASTM, TXDOT, and AASHTO
Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings.
Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of laboratory operations
Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
0 to 3 years of experience in maintaining and operating laboratory and testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily in the laboratory, will occasionally be needed to visit the project.
