Deco Products is hiring a Machining Technician – Tool & Die Repair in Decorah, Iowa. This hands-on role focuses on machining, repairing, and maintaining production tools and tooling components.

This role helps keep production tooling in good working condition, reduce downtime, and support safe, efficient, high-quality manufacturing.
What You Will Do
- Set up and run manual lathes and milling machines for tool repair work.
- Use surface grinders and other tool room equipment to repair and maintain production tooling.
- Machine, repair, and modify precision metal parts and tooling components.
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Use measuring tools to confirm accuracy, quality, and required tolerances.
- Troubleshoot and repair production tooling, dies, molds, trim dies, and fixtures.
- Document repair work and follow all safety procedures.
What We Are Looking For
- Must be able to set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines for repair work.
- Mechanical ability, machining interest, and willingness to continue learning are important.
- Tool room, machining, tool and die repair, or related hands-on experience is preferred.
- Technical college coursework or hands-on lab experience in machining, CNC machining, machine tool technology, or tool and die will be considered.
- CNC machining experience is helpful, but this is not a production CNC operator role.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools is preferred.
- Strong math, troubleshooting, attention to detail, and safe work habits are required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
