Job Summary

Join our vibrant café team as a Cafe Team Member and become the heart of a lively, welcoming environment! In this role, you will deliver exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of beverages and Dessert items. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create memorable experiences for our guests, ensuring every visit is enjoyable and satisfying. Whether you're taking orders, handling retail transactions, or maintaining a clean and inviting space, your contribution is vital to our café’s success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food service skills in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare pastries such as croissants, cookies, mousse cake and specialty cakes with precision and care.
Prepare beverages such as coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks with precision and care.
Prepare/decorate desserts such as Waffles, pancakes, crepes and scooping ice cream.
Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems like Toast POS.
Handle cash, credit card payments, and process cash transactions efficiently while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food prep stations, seating areas, and equipment to meet food safety standards
Assist with food handling and basic food preparation tasks to ensure quality and freshness of offerings.
Restock supplies regularly and organize merchandise displays to enhance the customer experience.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or café environments is preferred; pastry art and barista experience is a plus.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
Familiarity with food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
