Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), where your skills will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will perform advanced chairside procedures, assist with complex dental treatments, and support the delivery of exceptional dental services across general and specialized dentistry practices. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring compliance with all safety and health regulations. Duties

Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing advanced skills such as four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique.
Perform chairside assisting with precision, including taking and developing X-rays, medical imaging, and operating 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage patient flow efficiently by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed according to HIPAA standards.
Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments and ensure safe treatment planning.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing insurance claims with attention to detail in medical coding.
Ensure a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control guidelines and maintaining aseptic techniques at all times.

Qualifications

Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification or license required.
Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is highly valued.
Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to accurately assist during procedures.
Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient records efficiently.
Skilled in taking X-rays, operating 3D scanners, and performing medical imaging with attention to safety standards.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Excellent communication skills as a dental assistant and receptionist combined; ability to work effectively in a team using four-handed dentistry techniques.
