Connections Child & Family Center / DBT of North Houston | Rolling start, immediate availability
We are recruiting off-cycle for a 12-month postdoctoral fellowship in child, adolescent, and family psychology. If your fellowship plans changed late, or you are finishing your doctorate now, we have a seat open and we can move quickly.
Connections is an established child and family practice with developed specialty programs in DBT, OCD and disruptive behavior, and psychological assessment. You will join programs that already exist, with referral flow that already exists.
What you will train in
Core for every fellow:
- Emotion dysregulation across childhood and adolescence
- Family systems and parent-child intervention
- Behavioral and parenting consultation with caregivers
- Opportunities to develop child groups and parent workshops
- Optional: infant and early childhood mental health as an elective concentration — dyadic 0–5 work supervised in house by a psychologist who completed a two-year APA-accredited early childhood fellowship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CPP, DIR/Floortime, interaction guidance, early childhood assessment)
- Optional: psychological assessment as an elective concentration (capped at one comprehensive evaluation every two weeks)
Plus one selected specialty pathway — this shapes your clinical concentration and the formal training we fund:
- DBT — adolescent and family DBT, including skills group facilitation
- PMT — parent management training and behavioral parent work
- ERP — exposure and response prevention for pediatric OCD and anxiety
A note on testing. Assessment here is an elective concentration with a real cap, not a hidden production requirement. If you want assessment experience, you can have it. If you want a therapy-focused year, you can have that instead. We would rather you choose than resent it.
