Do you have the PRN career opportunities as a(an) Polysomnographer PRN you want with your current employer? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs intensive nocturnal and, if indicated, diurnal monitoring of physiologic and neurological parameters in patients of varying ages and medical conditions who are referred for sleep dysfunctions. Testing is performed in accordance with the standards of practice as defined by Tomball Regional Medical Center and the Association of Sleep Disorders Centers. The polysomnographic technologist works independently, utilizing a variety of sophisticated instruments and demonstrates good judgment and decision making in the treatment and handling of the individual patient.

What you will do in this role:

Communicate verbally via telephone
Communicate verbally in a face-to-face situation
Communicate in written form
Communicate and convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
Inspect machinery, office equipment, and/or medical equipment
Trouble-shoot medical equipment
Solve problems requiring interpretation
Utilize reasoning and problem-solving skills
Noise: sufficient noise to cause distraction or possible hearing loss
May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment
Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit environment
Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances
May be exposed to/occasionally exposed to patient elements
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
Handles emergency or crisis situations
Subject to many interruptions
Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
Handles absentee replacement on short notice

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate
