Lead Carpenter — Custom Trim
Clearcreek Design Build | Springboro, OH Serving the Greater Dayton & Cincinnati markets
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $29.00 – 39.00 / hour (based on experience)
Experience: 10+ years finish/trim carpentry preferred
About Clearcreek Design Build
Clearcreek Design Build is a luxury custom home builder and remodeler based in Springboro, Ohio. We build one-of-a-kind homes and high-end remodels for clients across the Dayton and Cincinnati regions, and we run our own in-house custom cabinet shop, Clearcreek Woodworks. Our work is defined by craftsmanship, and our reputation is built on getting the details right.
The Role
We're looking for a Lead Carpenter who has lived on both sides of the trim world: the precision and artistry of custom finish work, and the speed and repeatability of a production environment. You'll work with our other lead carpenters to help train and establish our standards, running finish scopes on multimillion-dollar new builds and high-end remodels, installing custom millwork and cabinetry, and leading the carpenters working alongside you.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll still be on the tools, but you'll also be the person others look to for how it's done right.
What You'll Do
- Execute high-end finish and trim carpentry: crown, casing, base, wainscoting, coffered and beamed ceilings, built-ins, stair parts, paneling, and custom millwork
- Install custom cabinetry produced by Clearcreek Woodworks to a luxury fit-and-finish standard
- Lead, mentor, and set the pace for field carpenters on site
- Interpret architectural plans, elevations, and shop/cabinet drawings, and lay out work accordingly
- Balance craftsmanship with productivity — hit quality benchmarks and keep the schedule moving
- Coordinate day-to-day with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and trade partners
- Own quality control on your scope, from rough-in through punch list and client walkthrough
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment responsibly
What We're Looking For
Required
- Proven finish/trim carpentry experience in residential construction
- Demonstrated experience in both custom and production trim environments
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, elevations, and shop drawings
- Ability to lead a crew and hold quality standards
- Reliable, communicative, and well-organized
- Own hand and finish tools
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to meet the physical demands of the trade (lifting, standing, climbing, working at heights)
Preferred
- 10+ years of professional trim/finish carpentry experience
- Experience installing custom cabinetry and architectural millwork
- Background leading finish scopes on high-end custom homes or luxury remodels
- Familiarity with stair building, curved/radius work, or specialty millwork
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Health / dental / vision insurance
- Paid time off and holidays
- Vehicle allowance
- Steady, year-round work with a growing, quality-focused builder
- The chance to put your name on some of the finest homes in the region
