Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our accounting team during the tax season. This role involves preparing individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, tax experience, and proficiency with various accounting software. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your financial expertise in a dynamic environment, providing valuable support to clients and the firm’s operations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual, business, and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently.
Utilize Drake Tax software.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial tools to gather data and generate reports.
Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and bookkeeping records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Assist clients with tax-related questions, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Support marketing efforts by promoting tax services to existing and prospective clients.
Perform bookkeeping tasks and manage financial data entry using 10 key typing skills and technical accounting methods.
Collaborate with team members on complex financial analysis projects when needed.

Experience

Prior experience preparing and filing personal and corporate returns.
EA or CPA experience preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar financial software.
Strong understanding of tax concepts, financial sales, and marketing strategies related to financial services.
Experience with bookkeeping, analysis skills, math proficiency, and technical accounting practices.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
Familiarity with 10 key typing for efficient data entry is advantageous. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about helping clients navigate their tax needs during the busy season.

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
