Job Description

Responsibilities:

As a member of an interdisciplinary design team working with senior engineers designing highway transportation projects:

Collect engineering information and data
Perform computations and analyses
Prepare design sketches and diagrams
Prepare engineering drawings and maps using CADD software
Perform quantity computations
Develop spreadsheets for computations and analyses
Perform traffic and safety studies
Write engineering reports and correspondence
Perform field work to investigate existing and construction conditions
Perform literature reviews
Cooperate and coordinate with other design team members
Review contractor submittals such as working drawings and RFIs

Requirements:

BS in Civil Engineering
Experience with Microstation or Autocad, Word and Excel
Familiarity with highway and traffic engineering design standards such as the Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO Highway Safety Manual, AASHTO Greenbook or the MUTCD.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Engineer-in-Training certificate holder preferred
