Experienced Short-Term Rental Cleaner / Turnover Specialist Job Overview
Rent Our Casas is seeking a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Short-Term Rental Cleaner to help prepare our rental properties between guest stays.
This is a time-sensitive position. Our properties must be cleaned, reset, stocked, photographed, and guest-ready before the next check-in. We are looking for someone who already understands professional cleaning standards and can work efficiently without needing constant supervision.
This is not an entry-level cleaning position. We are not looking to train someone on basic cleaning, time management, or dependability. We need someone who takes pride in their work, shows up on time, communicates clearly, and understands that missed details can affect the guest experience, reviews, and the business.
The ideal candidate has experience with short-term rentals, Airbnb/VRBO properties, hotel housekeeping, residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or hospitality-related cleaning.
Required Availability
Sunday through Saturday
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Most guest check-outs are at 10:00 AM and guest check-ins are at 4:00 PM, so this window is extremely important.
This does not mean there will be work every day, but applicants must be available during this time frame when turnovers are scheduled.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize short-term rental properties between guest stays
- Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, dining areas, entryways, patios, and common areas
- Change linens and make beds neatly and properly
- Handle onsite laundry for linens, towels, washcloths, and bedding as needed
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and complete floor care as needed
- Dust, wipe down, and disinfect all surfaces
- Clean toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors, counters, appliances, cabinets, drawers, and floors
- Check under beds, behind doors, inside drawers, closets, cabinets, refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, and other guest-use areas
- Restock guest supplies such as toiletries, towels, paper products, kitchen essentials, and starter items
- Remove trash and ensure trash areas are clean and organized
- Ensure the property is clean, staged, organized, and guest-ready
- Take clear, bright, time/date-stamped photos of completed work
- Report damages, missing items, maintenance issues, stains, odors, excessive trash, pet hair, smoking smells, or guest-related problems immediately
- Follow property-specific checklists and company standards
- Communicate promptly and professionally with management
- Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and responsibly
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Proven professional cleaning experience
- Prior experience in residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, hotel housekeeping, janitorial work, short-term rental cleaning, or similar work
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, laundry procedures, and floor care
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly without cutting corners
- Reliable transportation
- Smartphone with camera capability
- Ability to take and upload clear photos
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, carry laundry/supplies, and perform physical cleaning duties
- Weekend and holiday availability when needed
- Professional communication skills
- A dependable, punctual, no-drama work ethic
Cleaning Supplies & Equipment
Cleaner must provide their own professional cleaning supplies and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Vacuum
- Mop
- Broom/dustpan
- Cleaning cloths/rags
- Bathroom cleaner
- Kitchen cleaner
- Glass cleaner
- Floor cleaner
- Disinfecting products
- Cleaning brushes
- Sponges
- Gloves
- Any other tools or products needed to complete a professional turnover
Rent Our Casas may provide certain property-specific guest supplies, but the cleaner is responsible for bringing the cleaning products and equipment needed to complete the job.
