Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate License Independent Social Worker to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health and social services, utilizing your expertise to support individuals across diverse populations. Your work will directly impact patient well-being by delivering evidence-based interventions, conducting thorough assessments, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your clinical skills in a fast-paced setting committed to excellence and holistic patient care.

Duties

Conduct detailed intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and psychosocial histories for diverse patient populations, including children, adults, and geriatrics.
Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focusing on mental health issues like PTSD, addiction, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and Alzheimer's care.
Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage urgent cases with professionalism and sensitivity.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
Collaborate with medical professionals to coordinate patient care plans, including medication management and psychopharmacology considerations.
Collect data for clinical research projects related to behavioral health outcomes and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Skills

Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis management.
Strong background working with children and families in settings such as hospitals, community clinics, or special education environments.
Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and documentation standards for medical records.
Expertise in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, Alzheimer's disease, and other neurological conditions.
Skilled in case management practices including intake procedures, diagnostic evaluation, patient assessment, and behavioral health planning.
Proficiency with EMR systems for data collection, documentation, and research purposes.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with experience handling sensitive medical records securely.
Ability to perform behavioral assessments using applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques when applicable.
Experience in addiction counseling or substance use disorder treatment programs is a plus.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and engaging patients through culturally competent care.
