Springfield Dental Group is a family owned general dentistry practice. We are dedicated to providing high-level care to our patients in Springfield, Ohio. We are an office that truly values compassion, teamwork, and a positive environment for our patients and employees.The primary focus of our office is providing quality dental care and positive experiences for our patients. We are a moderately sized office, with three rotating dentists and 1-2 columns of hygiene each day. Our office is up to date and equiped with new technology including an iTero scanner, digital radiograph sensors, and intraoral cameras.
Seeking: We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist while one of our hygienists recovers from surgery to treat patients and promote good oral health practices. We’re looking for someone who is motivated, kind, and eager to make a positive impact on our patients’ experiences each day. This position can be either full or part time.

Dental Hygienist Duties:
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in caring for our patients. This includes a wide range of duties including :
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment for dental procedures
- Acquire dental radiographs (X-Rays)
- Identify oral conditions and recommend treatment
- For Example: healthy periodontium, gingivitis, or periodontitis and the appropriate treatment
- Screening for other oral conditions such as caries or oral cancers
- Perform treatment including prophys (cleanings), Scaling and Root Planing (SRP), and topical fluoride varnish application
- Educate patients of all ages on proper dental home care (OHI), including demonstrations and personalized recommendations
- Assist the dentist in explaining treatment recommendations or patient instructions
- In our office we perform a wide range of procedures including exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, endodontic treatment, extractions, dentures, Invisalign, and implants.
- Complete dental charting and maintain accurate patient records- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
Applicable Skills:
- Familiarity with medical / dental documentation, coding, billing, health and safety regulations, and HIPAA
- Knowledge of infection control, instrument sterilization, maintaining dental equipment, and monitoring supplies
- Competency and certification to acquired dental radiographs (X-Rays)
- Good communication skills- Ability to create a comfortable and caring environment for patients- Comfortable working with a wide range of patients including pediatric and elderly patients
* Prior experience with iTero, other digital scanners, or intraoral cameras is helpful, but not required.
* Prior experience with Dentrix Ascend electronic health record system is helpful, but not required.
Requirements:
- Full or part time availability (Monday - Friday)
- Diploma / Degree in Dental Hygiene
- Current license to practice dental hygiene in the state of Ohio
- Current certification in dental radiography (X-ray certification)
- CPR certification (preferred)
