Accounting Associate

Columbia Ventures | Savannah, GA | Full-Time, In-Office

Reports to: VP of Operations and Accounting

$60,000–$75,000/year

About Us

Columbia Ventures is a mixed-use real estate developer based in Atlanta, Georgia, with a growing presence in Jacksonville, FL, Savannah, GA, and Denver, CO.

Position Overview

We're adding a second Accounting Associate to our growing accounting team, reporting to the VP of Operations and Accounting. You'll play a key role in keeping financial records accurate and up to date across multiple entities — from day-to-day bookkeeping and reconciliations to supporting monthly reporting and budget tracking. This is a great fit for someone who's organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

Financial Data Entry: Accurately record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in the accounting system.
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
General Ledger Maintenance: Classify and record transactions, including journal entries.
Accounts Receivable: Generate, review, and process invoices with proper coding and documentation.
Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and payments efficiently and accurately.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and track business expenses, receipts, and reimbursements.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Budgeting: Contribute to budget preparation and ongoing monitoring.
Vendor & Client Relations: Respond to inquiries and resolve financial matters promptly and professionally.
Record Retention: Keep physical and electronic financial records organized and secure.
Administrative Support: Help with office supplies, correspondence, and general team support as needed and a general willingness to “sweep the sheds” for the benefit of the company.

What You'll Bring

2–3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, plus working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Excel. Sage experience is a plus.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
Experience in property management, real estate development, or project accounting is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $60,000–$75,000/year, commensurate with experience.

Schedule & Location

This is a full-time role at approximately 40 hours/week, based in person at our office in downtown Savannah. With tenure and earned trust, there's flexibility to discuss specific hours during the interview process.
