Job Description
An established upscale Illinois steakhouse is seeking an experienced Head Chef / Operating Partner to lead kitchen operations and support overall restaurant performance. This is a full-time leadership opportunity for a motivated culinary professional with strong restaurant or chef experience who is ready to take ownership of both the kitchen and the success of the business. Must be open to relocation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in full-service restaurant operations, team leadership, and high-quality food execution. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage kitchen standards, drive profitability, and contribute to the long-term growth of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, quality, and consistency
Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff
Manage scheduling, labor, inventory, and ordering
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
Collaborate with ownership on menu development, costing, and profitability
Help monitor overall restaurant operations and performance
Create and maintain a positive, accountable, and efficient work environment
Ensure an exceptional dining experience through consistency and excellence

Qualifications

Prior restaurant or chef experience required
Experience in a leadership role such as Head Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar preferred
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, cost control, and staff management
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Must be a strong team player with a passion for hospitality and food quality
Full-time availability required

Compensation & Benefits

Profit sharing up to 50%
