Full Job Description

The Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) seeks to fill an immediate opening for Senior Director, Education and Events. This exciting opportunity leads the operations of the Illinois Bankers Education Services (IBES), the education subsidiary of the IBA. The ideal professional will have extensive experience planning conferences and seminars, supervising staff, and working with boards and committees to deliver outstanding professional development services. This dynamic position works with staff to deliver a broad and ever-changing menu of educational opportunities to Illinois banking professionals. This role helps coordinate the myriad functions under the IBES (Illinois Bankers Education Services) subsidiary of the IBA.

Core Responsibilities include:

Leading the Illinois Bankers Association’s conference portfolio, ensuring well-performing and timely conference offerings.
Supervising staff to deliver a broad menu of conference, seminar, webinar, and discussion forum programming.
Serving as liaison and recordkeeper for education-related boards and committees, including the Illinois Bankers Education Services (IBES) Board of Directors.
Working with marketing staff to develop and deliver program guides, sponsorship brochures, marketing materials, and other deliverables to ensure program success.
Assisting with budgeting and financial planning for IBES and individual conferences.

Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; to include demonstrated experience leading complex events, working with volunteer boards and committees, and leading teams.
Strong organizational, meeting planning and communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work independently to start and finish projects.
Additional requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement will be provided.
While the position is primarily based in Springfield, IL, the position requires travel including overnight stays.

Pay range: $80,000-$105,000 annually with a generous benefits package that includes employee health insurance, life insurance, and LTD paid by employer; dental, STD and vision offered; 401(k) with match; FSA available; PTO and paid holidays.
