Full Job Description

The Associate Principal/Director of Career and Technical Education is a 260-day position for the 2026-2027 school year, providing short-term leadership and oversight of all Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and operations within LPVEC. This role ensures continuity, stability, and effective day-to-day management of the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) throughout the transition. The Associate Principal/Director collaborates with the Principal/Director, member district principals, the Assistant Principal, and stakeholders to maintain high-quality programming, support staff and students, and advance key initiatives already underway. The position also supports long-term leadership planning by documenting systems, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

If successful during the 2026-2027 school year, the Associate Principal/Director of Career and Technical Education will be the next Principal/Director of the Career and Technical Education Program at the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative (LPVEC) starting with the 2027-2028 school year.1.Provides overall leadership and supervision of all career and technical education programs, staff, and daily operations.2.Reports regularly to the Executive Director on program status, priorities, and emerging needs.3.Maintains continuity of existing programs, ensuring alignment with Chapter 74 standards and LPVEC policies.4.Oversees and manages program budgets from local, state, and federal sources.5.Supports and sustains Chapter 74 approval processes, including documentation and compliance activities.6.Assists with the ongoing review, refinement, and implementation of the curriculum across all CTE programs.7.Conducts program evaluations and supports continuous improvement.8.Supervises, supports, and evaluates staff in accordance with established evaluation systems.9.Participates in the hiring process and provides staffing recommendations as needed.10.Maintains strong communication with member district principals and participates in the Principals Council and other leadership groups. 11.Strengthens and sustains partnerships with business, industry, labor, and postsecondary institutions to support programming and advisory committees.12.Represents LPVEC and its CTE programs to the community and to external organizations.13.Serves as liaison to organizations such as MAVA, DESE, and regional partners.14.Supports the development and continuation of grant-funded initiatives, including Perkins, Mass Skills, and Expansion Grants.15.Attends Board of Directors and Superintendents meetings as requested by the Executive Director.16.Ensures the timely completion and submission of all required reports and documentation.17.Supports professional development activities and staff licensure and recertification.18.Assists with student recruitment, admissions, and retention efforts in collaboration with member districts.19.Supervises cooperative education programs and related staff.20.Maintains and supports articulation agreements with postsecondary partners.21.Oversees student discipline in accordance with LPVEC and the member district policies.22.Serves as a member of the LPVEC leadership team.23.Ensures the safe and effective operation of facilities, including oversight of buildings, grounds, and equipment.24.Supervises career and technical counseling, placement, and follow-up services for students.25.Oversees the operation of the Early Learning Center.26.Ensures that all programs implement competency-based instruction that integrates academic and technical standards.27.Document systems, procedures, and recommendations to support a smooth transition to permanent leadership.28.Performs other duties as assigned by the CTE Principal/Director and the Executive Director to support LPVEC's mission and operations.
