Full Job Description

Actualize Counseling & Nutrition is a specialized private practice providing integrated mental health and nutrition care. We partner with hospitals, treatment programs, universities, and community providers to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care for individuals navigating eating disorders, body image concerns, and related mental health challenges.

Our model is rooted in collaboration—therapists and registered dietitians work closely as a unified treatment team, with structured supervision and ongoing case consultation to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.

We are seeking a seasoned, self-directed clinician with strong experience in eating disorder treatment who thrives in an environment that values clinical autonomy, accountability, and professionalism. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, motivated, and prefers to work independently while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative team.

The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults, primarily focused on eating disorders and co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. This clinician will play an integral role in delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care while maintaining clinical ownership of their caseload.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy using evidence-based approaches for eating disorders and related conditions
Collaborate with clients to develop clear, actionable treatment goals and plans
Incorporate practical tools and skill-building strategies for use outside of sessions
Work collaboratively with dietitians and the broader care team to support integrated treatment
Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and treatment records
Participate in weekly individual and group supervision
Communicate professionally with referral sources and care teams (e.g., physicians, universities, families) when appropriate

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a clinician who is:

Experienced and specialized in eating disorder treatment (required)
Well-organized and reliable, with strong clinical follow-through
Self-motivated and accountable, able to manage a caseload independently
Comfortable working with minimal micromanagement while maintaining high standards of care
Collaborative, yet confident in clinical decision-making
Skilled in building rapport with adolescents and young adults

Clinical Skills & Experience

Experience treating:
Disordered eating (restriction, bingeing, compensatory behaviors)
Body image concerns
Anxiety, trauma, and family-of-origin dynamics
Working knowledge of:
Evidence-based approaches such as ACT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing
Approaches addressing shame, self-compassion, and relational patterns
Familiarity with frameworks such as:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Trauma-informed care
Compassion-based or acceptance-based therapies
Ability to translate clinical concepts into clear, practical, and accessible tools for clients

Qualifications

Fully licensed therapist (LMHC, LCSW, LCPC, or equivalent) preferred
Demonstrated experience working with eating disorders (required)
Experience with adolescents and young adults strongly preferred
