We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with specialized expertise in healthcare turnaround management to lead a critical transformation initiative on a contractual basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to steer a healthcare organization through complex operational, financial, and strategic challenges, driving sustainable growth and organizational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of executive leadership, strategic management, and profit financial oversight within the healthcare sector. As the interim leader, you will collaborate with the owners.
We are a rapidly expanding, multi-faceted healthcare organization based in Springfield, MO, operating across three distinct divisions: (Expanding into multiple States)
- Mobile Multi-Specialty Group: Providing on-site Medical, Psychiatric, Wound Care, and Podiatry services within regional skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
- Brick-and-Mortar Outpatient Clinic: Offering Outpatient Psychiatric Services and a high-end Med Spa in Springfield.
- Care Management Division: A high-growth start-up sector currently launching.
The Founder and Owner is a full-time, practicing Nurse Practitioner dedicated to patient care on the floor. We require an aggressive, highly authoritative Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Turnaround Specialist to step in immediately.
Your sole mission is to audit our entire Southwest Missouri ecosystem, stop financial leaks, optimize processes, restructure the team, and maximize profitability fast. You will have full executive authority over personnel decisions, operational workflows, and financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid Financial Stabilization: The Interim CEO will immediately take absolute operational authority over our multi-specialty healthcare organization (Mobile SNF, Springfield Psych/Med Spa Clinic, and Care Management) to execute rapid financial stabilization. This high-intensity role requires an aggressive, metrics-driven leader. You will have full executive autonomy to restructure the departmental financial frameworks, analyze P&L segments, and immediately hire or terminate personnel as needed to maximize corporate profitability.
- Personnel Restructuring: Evaluate all current clinical and administrative staff. You will have the direct authority to hire top-tier regional talent and terminate underperforming or toxic personnel immediately. Evaluate all personal and restructure them in there strong areas.
- Process Engineering: Rebuild scheduling, regional dispatch protocols for the mobile nursing home teams, and intake workflows for the Springfield clinic to eliminate operational friction.
- Start-up Oversight: Streamline the operational rollout of the new Care Management division to ensure it launches as a profitable entity, not a financial drain.
- Executive Autonomy: Serve as the absolute operational leader, shielding the owner from administrative disruption so they can focus entirely on clinical delivery. Will have meeting and establish partnerships to further grow the business.
- Oversee all aspects of business management, including operations management, financial oversight, and organizational development.
- Lead fundraising efforts for business development initiatives, cultivating relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders to secure necessary resources.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of executive healthcare leadership (CEO, COO, or Executive Director) with a documented track record of successful corporate turnarounds.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep operational understanding of skilled nursing facility (SNF) logistics, mobile medical provider billing, psychiatric billing, and cash-pay aesthetics/med spa models.
- Regional Compliance: Strong familiarity with Missouri DHSS regulations, regional Medicare MACs, and Missouri HealthNet (Medicaid) billing policies.
- HR Decisiveness: Proven, fearless experience in workforce reduction, staff restructuring, and navigating the Southwest Missouri clinical recruitment market.
- Financial Literacy: Mastery of P&L management, medical billing/revenue cycle management (RCM), and healthcare compliance.
- Extensive experience in corporate strategy development within healthcare or nonprofit sectors; proven success in turnaround or restructuring roles.
- Demonstrated executive leadership capabilities with a strong background in business management and team supervision at senior levels.
- Strong background in healthcare operations management coupled with entrepreneurial spirit for innovative problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels including senior leadership teams and community partners.
- Prior experience managing budgets at an executive level along with comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex change processes while maintaining focus on mission-driven outcomes.

Pay: $78,750.83 - $120,000.00 per year
