Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Part Time Shift Supervisor and become a vital leader in our retail environment! This energetic role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive on managing daily store operations, inspiring team members, and delivering exceptional customer service. As a Shift Supervisor, you'll oversee store activities during your scheduled hours, ensure smooth operations, and foster a positive shopping experience for all customers. Your leadership will help drive sales, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold our high standards of store presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop management skills while working in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

Duties

Supervise daily store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies
Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service
Manage cash handling procedures, POS transactions, and store opening/closing routines with accuracy
Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing adjustments to optimize product presentation
Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and performance feedback to foster team growth
Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment
Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage store supplies to ensure operational readiness
Implement marketing initiatives and promotional displays to boost sales and store visibility

Experience

Proven supervising or team management experience within retail or similar customer service environments
Strong knowledge of retail sales techniques, inventory control, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
Excellent communication skills
Experience with retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, and sales management
Familiarity with merchandising standards, stock replenishment, and inventory management tools
Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced setting
Organizational skills that support efficient shift management and administrative duties
Prior assistant manager or supervisory roles in grocery stores or retail outlets are advantageous
Huge plus if have experience and knowledge about animals including reptiles, amphibians, inverts, cats, dogs and birds.
