Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides administrative and operational support to Mortgage Loan Originators throughout the mortgage loan process. Assists with loan application intake, documentation collection, customer communication, and file preparation to facilitate timely and accurate loan decisions. Serves as a key point of contact for borrowers while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with all applicable lending regulations and bank policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist Mortgage Loan Originators with mortgage application intake, documentation gathering, and loan file preparation.
Communicate with borrowers to obtain required information and supporting documentation in a timely and professional manner.
Review loan files for completeness and accuracy and assist with tracking outstanding conditions and documentation.
Enter and update loan information within bank systems and maintain accurate customer records.
Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining positive relationships with borrowers and referral partners.
Support marketing and business development activities, including customer follow-up communications and approved marketing initiatives.
Promote teamwork and collaborate effectively with mortgage, retail banking, loan servicing, and other bank departments.
Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Comply with all applicable banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act requirements and information security standards.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum two years of mortgage lending, loan administration, banking, or related experience preferred.
Working knowledge of conventional and government mortgage lending practices or ability to learn required lending guidelines.
Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related business systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This role works in a standard office environment and involves extended periods at a computer, regular communication in person and by phone, and occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds. Occasional travel within the Springfield Market may be required for customer, referral partner, meeting, or training activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
