Full Job Description

The Sales & Advertising Director drives revenue growth while ensuring exceptional client experiences. This role will oversee both sales strategy and client services, ensuring seamless coordination between revenue generation, client retention, and new business development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS OF DIRECTOR

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

Own total advertising revenue and performance against goals
Maintain clear visibility into pipeline, pacing, and projections
Identify risks early and take action to stay on track
Drive strategy for new business development and market expansion
Support and, at times, participate in high-value client conversations
Ensure consistent pipeline growth across the team

Client Services & Account Management

Own the effectiveness of the sales process from prospecting to close
Ensure CRM accuracy, pipeline visibility, and reporting consistency
Partner with Sales Operations to improve efficiency and tracking
Partner with Account Services to ensure strong client retention and satisfaction
Step in on key accounts as needed to support long-term relationships
Ensure alignment between what is sold and what is delivered

Coaching & Team Development

Lead and coach Account Executives to hit and exceed goals
Establish consistent sales rhythms (pipeline reviews, accountability, follow-up)
Create clarity around expectations, activity, and results
Ensure seamless collaboration between sales, account management, and internal teams.

SKILLS AND STRENGTHS

Strong ability to drive revenue and hold people accountable
Confidence in managing pipeline, forecasting, and CRM systems
Ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Comfort operating in a growing, evolving environment
Relationship driven with strong communication skills. Solid working relationship with (and the respect of) the clients and internal teams.
Revenue and results driven to understand the importance of tracking all efforts to results, metrics and ultimately, revenue.
Exceptional time-management, planning, organizational and administrative skills, while being able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficient in sales reporting and analytics, CRM systems, and standard computer programs.
Intrinsically motivated to work independently yet still be a team player
Comfort with following direction and receiving feedback as required
Critical thinking, negotiation, decision making and problem solving skills
Ability to work quickly and pivot quickly in a rapidly changing environment
Oh—and last but not least, a passion for excellence

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or equivalent experience and education required, along with 4+ years of experience supporting a sales team in a leadership, strategy, or client services capacity.

Media, advertising, or agency experience and proven experience leading or coaching a sales team to results is a plus.
