Job Title: Warehouse and Inventory Specialist

Reports to: Production Manager / Team Leader

Job Type: Full time, non-temporary

Hours: Venture Mfg Co. works M-Thu, 10 hrs per day, 6am-4:30pm. Overtime offered on Friday’s or throughout the week, as needed.

Location: Venture Mfg Co. 3636 Dayton Park Dr. / Dayton, OH 45414

Pay: Competitive.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse & Inventory Technician is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials within a manufacturing environment. This role supports production by maintaining organized inventory, performing cycle counts and reconciliations, and ensuring materials are available when needed. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with forklifts and material-handling equipment, and the ability to work within an MRP-based inventory system. When warehouse workload is completed, the individual will assist with production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving & Material Handling

Unload incoming trucks and containers using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records.
Inspect received materials for damage, quantity discrepancies, and quality issues.
Accurately receive materials into the company’s MRP/ERP system.
Properly label, stage, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.

Inventory Control

Perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
Maintain organized inventory locations and proper stock rotation where applicable.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or irregularities.
Utilize the company’s MRP system to track inventory transactions and material movement.

Shipping & Logistics

Prepare and coordinate complex outbound shipments including domestic and international orders.
Pick, pack, and stage materials according to work orders, sales orders, or shipping documentation.
Ensure shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and documented.
Coordinate freight pickups and maintain shipping documentation.

Production Support

When warehouse duties are complete, assist in running basic production jobs.
Assist with material movement at workcenters.

Organization & Process Discipline

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Continuously look for opportunities to improve material flow and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications and Application Requirements:

5+ years experience in a warehouse or manufacturing material-handling role.
Experience and understanding in cycle counting and reconciliation.
Certified or experienced forklift operator.
Experience working with MRP/ERP inventory systems.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Ability to read shipping documents, purchase orders, and work orders.
Comfortable using computers, barcode scanners, and inventory software.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment.
Active drivers license with reliable transportation.
