Ault, Henderson & Lewis CPAs is a certified public accounting firm serving clients across Darke, Mercer and Miami counties in Ohio and Jay county in Indiana, with offices in Greenville, Celina, Tipp City and Portland, IN. The firm provides a broad range of services to businesses and individuals, including tax preparation, tax planning and projections, payroll services, consulting and financial statement preparation. Team members work with diverse client needs, from simple individual returns to more complex business engagements. Role Description

The seasonal tax preparer is an on-site role based in Tipp City, OH, supporting the firm 3-5 days per week during the tax season (February - mid April). Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing individual tax returns, organizing and reviewing client documentation and ensuing accurate application of current tax laws and regulations. The role involves working directly with clients to clarify tax-related questions, identify missing information and gather additional data as needed. The tax preparer will assist with basic tax planning discussions, support the review of financial information relevant to tax filings and collaborate with CPAs and staff to resolve issues and meet filing deadlines. This position requires attention to detail, consistent documentation and adherence to firm procedures and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

Strong skills in tax preparation and practical experience preparing individual returns.
Knowledge of tax and tax law sufficient to interpret regulations and apply them accurately to client situations.
Foundational understanding of finance concepts relevant to tax planning and client advisory services.
Proficiency with tax preparation software and basic office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
Clear written and verbal communication skills and a client-focused, professional demeanor.
Prior experience in public accounting or tax preparation is strongly preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
