Full Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a experienced Prior Authorization Coordinator to join our administrative team. This roles is critical in ensuring timely and accurate processing of prior authorizations for medical procedures and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare payer requirements, medical terminology, and patient communication.

Overview: Pacific Sports and Spine is a leading provider of specialized care in sports medicine and spine health. We are dedicated to delivering high quality, patient centered care and are looking for team members who share our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

Review and process prior authorization requests for medical procedures, imaging, and treatments

Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain approvals

Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to gather necessary documentation

Maintain accurate records and follow up on pending authorizations

Educate patients on authorization status and assist with questions related to coverage

Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and internal protocols

Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in prior authorization or billing

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance payer requirements

Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and authorization platforms

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare certification is a plus
