$35.19 - $51.61 (Classified Hourly Pay Level 17)

Salary/Compensation Statement:

Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $73,202 – 107,353.
New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years’ relevant experience and education. Rate determined within this range is based largely on years of relevant experience.
Lane’s robust Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, basic term life insurance, long term disability, vacation leave, personal time and paid sick leave.
Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions regarding your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or to the US Department of Education.

Required Education:

A bachelor’s degree with course work in a related field.

Required Experience:

Eight (8) years of accounting/finance experience with at least three (3) years in progressively increasing project management role or responsibility.

Experience in utilizing advanced and complex spreadsheets, downloads, databases, and/or extracts.
Familiarity with Internal Controls and Separation of Duties.

Position Purpose:

This position supports operational efficiency and security for the College’s financial activities & assets, serving a variety of College departments. This position is active in processing transactions as well as designing process flows andis available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems daily.

Essential Functions:

Based on funding agency guidelines and College administrative policies, establishes procedures, sets priorities, and directs the total operation of the project.
Establishes long and short-range goals and objectives.
Writes and monitors contracts with subcontractors.
Evaluates staffing needs, screens applicants for positions.
Plans, schedules, assigns, trains, directs and provides substantial input into evaluations of assigned staff.
Develops and administers project budget and capital outlay requests.
Monitors project compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Recommends changes in College procedures and policies.
Evaluates and revises the project and department policies and procedures.
Assures that required budget and/or progress reports are prepared in a timely manner.
Assesses needs of clients or other service recipients and develops procedures to deliver Services.
Provides and/or Coordinates training opportunities and other events for staff and target audience that are related to project goals.
Serves as chief liaison and advocate for the project with College departments, the community, and other agencies.
Promotes the project within the College and community through public presentations, media interviews, and written materials.
Establishes and coordinates with project user groups.
Establishes network relationships with individuals, coalitions, private and public agencies working with issues related to the goals of the project.
Represents the College at evaluation and budget negotiation sessions related to project funding.
Provides technical assistance to College staff and outside agencies on matters related to the project.
Coordinates with other agencies to ensure that the College’s obligations are met; works with representatives of State, federal, and/or local agencies on delivering services.
Role model the principles and concepts of social justice in daily work.
Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.
Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Statement:

Reports to and works under the guidance of the Controller. Work is performed independently based on previous knowledge and professional judgment, according to local, state, and federal regulations, applicable laws, College policies and program guidelines.

This position coordinates and leads the work of Project Coordinators, Administrative Specialists, Project Specialists, hourly employees, volunteers and/or student workers. This position plans work, assigns tasks, provides priorities, and trains staff. This position is available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems daily and may have input into hiring decisions and performance evaluations.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work safely.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of debits/credits and accounting principles.
Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills.

Provide exemplary customer service to students, staff, and vendors.
Keep accurate financial records and provide an audit trail.
