Accounting Assistant

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour

About the Opportunity

Beacon Hill is working with a large multi-million-dollar company in the professional services industry seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their accounting operations team in Philadelphia. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting or finance professional looking to gain hands-on experience in payment processing, reconciliations, and financial operations while working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
This contract-to-hire opportunity offers long-term potential for candidates who demonstrate strong attention to detail, accountability, and a desire to build a career within accounting and financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Process and apply incoming payments accurately and efficiently
Research, investigate, and resolve payment discrepancies and exceptions
Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Support daily accounting and cash application activities
Partner with internal departments and external financial institutions to resolve issues
Maintain data accuracy across multiple systems and reports
Meet established production, quality, and service expectations
Assist with process improvements and operational efficiencies
Provide exceptional service while managing time-sensitive financial transactions

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1+ year of accounting, finance, operations, or related experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience researching and resolving discrepancies
Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
