The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Operations has a full-time vacancy for Supervisor of Cash Terminal Operations, SOC Title 43-1010 SUPS OFC-ADMIN SUPP-2 in Newport NH. This position has a 40 hour work week and is considered non-exempt.
Summary:
Supervise, organize, coordinate and oversee the daily operations and functions of a Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office with emphasis on customer service and maintaining accurate transactions and petty cash funds, while ensuring that correct business practices and processes are being followed.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience : Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in business management or administration, accounting, banking, or related field with supervisory, management, or administrative duties involving public contact or customer service.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license or access to transportation
Other Requirements:
1. Must pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information
2. May be required to work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to, early morning, evening and/or weekend hours
3. May be required to travel throughout the state and work at various satellite offices for periods of time

AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:
Must attend and successfully complete an intensive multi-week training program of classroom and on-the-job training, with weekly evaluations to ensure compatibility, suitability and ability to learn the complex motor vehicle systems, computer systems, processes, procedures, forms and transactions, while providing first-rate customer service in an expedient, timely, accurate and polite manner in a high volume customer service area or workstation. Continued employment is contingent upon successfully completing all aspects of the training program within the first six months of employment

Responsibilities:
Supervises and oversees the DMV personnel at a satellite office while ensuring that a high level of customer service is being maintained. Verifies that all DMV personnel are abiding by NH motor vehicle laws, administrative rules and operating procedures, including the motor vehicle Privacy Act. Notifies DMV management immediately of any personnel problems, issues or concerns within the satellite office to include the satellite office building, furniture or other physical problems. Makes recommendations for improvement to management.
Ensures that cash terminals are secure at all times including cash, checks, Director stamps, laminates, decals, plates, temporary license documents, etc. Ensures that cash terminal operators maintain the correct amount of cash, checks at all times matching the transactions completed, conducting random audits as required, including petty cash. Verifies petty cash at the beginning and end of each business day. Issues petty cash change to employees as required.
Verifies that all applications are properly completed, and that registration, driver license, title, driver record or other transaction document information is correct and that the proper fee is calculated. Receives and enters into the computer database, applications for driver licenses, vehicle registrations, boat registrations, titles, driver record documents and other items and permits issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Answers questions on the telephone and at the customer counter regarding NH motor vehicle laws and rules.
Completes all duties of the Cash Terminal Operator I and Cash Terminal Operator II classifications including, but not limited to, waiting on the public and processing DMV transactions.
Ensures that all cash terminal operator closeouts are accurate and correct on a daily basis. Ensures that closeout procedures are being followed by all employees, including required vault and/or bank deposit procedures. Initiates and monitors the setup and take down of the computer system to maintain integrity of the informational data. Verifies subordinates’ daily receipts and closeout and prepares the bank deposit for the unit. Ensures that all petty cash, decals, laminates, plates, etc., are properly secured in the satellite office vault or safe at the end of each business day. Ensures that the daily deposit is delivered to the bank.
Ensures that adequate procedures, processes and random audits are in place to deter theft and fraudulent business practices.
Assists with completing employee evaluations and solving employee problems. Assists with providing training as required. Makes recommendations on all satellite office requests for leave to ensure that the satellite office is properly staffed. Compiles and completes necessary reports including weekly payroll. Ensures that all customers are served in an efficient, timely and polite manner. Ensures that all personnel are meeting the appearance policy and are neat and cleanly dressed. Ensures that all personnel arrive at work and leave work as assigned and are taking the designated time for breaks and lunch.
Assists with implementing new DMV policies and procedures to comply with NH laws and rules, and to improve and enhance customer service including computer hardware and software.
Maintains a secure and confidential area and ensures that MV information and records are released to only authorized individuals in compliance with the Privacy Act.
Attends and participates at meetings and seminars as required. Works with the DMV Business Administrator on financial and audit issues.
