Shift: Day Shift – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Every Other Weekend Required
Duration: 13 weeks
Certification Requirement: Registered Respiratory Therapist; BLS, ACLS, and PALS Required

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to support outpatient pediatric facilities in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a float position supporting outpatient services while also providing coverage in ICU, ED, and general pediatric care areas as needed. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, strong pediatric experience, recent Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) experience, and extensive critical care experience in PICU, NICU, and ED settings.
Candidates must be proficient in performing pulmonary function tests, with experience using Breeze software strongly preferred. Level I trauma experience is highly preferred, although Level II trauma experience will be considered. An active Georgia license is required at the time of submission, and candidates must be registered. Strong pediatric clinical skills, flexibility, and the ability to float across multiple care areas are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive respiratory therapy services for pediatric patients in outpatient and hospital-based care settings
- Perform pulmonary function tests accurately and efficiently according to established clinical protocols
- Utilize PFT equipment and software, with Breeze software experience strongly preferred
- Float between outpatient facilities, ICU, ED, and general pediatric care areas as assigned
- Provide respiratory care support to critically ill pediatric patients in PICU, NICU, and ED settings
- Assess patients and provide appropriate respiratory treatments based on clinical condition and physician orders
- Monitor respiratory status, oxygenation, ventilation, and response to therapy
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies according to established standards and patient care plans
- Assist with emergency respiratory care and support patients requiring critical care interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, and patient responses in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, respiratory care staff, and other healthcare professionals to support quality pediatric patient care
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and respiratory therapy protocols
- Maintain and properly operate respiratory therapy and pulmonary function testing equipment
- Follow facility policies, regulatory requirements, and clinical standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized respiratory therapy environment
- Participate in weekend coverage every other weekend as required
- Remain flexible and adaptable while floating to different departments and care areas based on facility needs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience required
- Pediatric respiratory therapy experience required
- Recent Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) experience required
- Proficiency in performing pulmonary function tests required
- Breeze software experience strongly preferred
- Extensive critical care experience in PICU, NICU, and ED required
- Level I trauma experience highly preferred; Level II trauma experience will be considered
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Active Georgia Respiratory Therapist license required at the time of submission
- Strong pediatric clinical assessment and respiratory care skills
- Experience working in outpatient and acute-care environments preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Ability to float and work effectively across outpatient facilities, ICU, ED, and general pediatric care areas
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care
- Flu vaccine required
- Must comply with nicotine-free facility requirements, including nicotine testing along with the required drug screen
- RTO (Requested Time Off) must be provided at the time of submission
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with every other weekend required
- Both local and travel candidates will be considered
