Job Description
This role focuses on fabricating and assembling custom security solutions for ammunition and explosives used by the US military. You will perform a variety of welding processes on mild steel and aluminum, using both manual and mechanized cutting tools to produce high-quality, precise components.
Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble custom security components for ammunition and explosives according to detailed specifications and blueprints.

Perform MIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, ensuring strong, clean, and structurally sound welds.

Perform Stick, Flux Core, and TIG welding as required by each project, selecting appropriate processes and settings for different materials and thicknesses.

Interpret and work from welding blueprints, including reading and applying welding symbols accurately.

Use plasma cutters and track torches to cut materials to precise dimensions and shapes.

Perform grinding and finishing operations to prepare joints, smooth welds, and achieve required surface quality.

Fit and position components prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and dimensional accuracy.

Inspect welds and fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.

Maintain welding equipment, cutting tools, and workstations in safe, clean, and operational condition.

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with welding equipment, cutting tools, and materials.
Essential Skills

Proven experience with MIG welding on mild steel and aluminum.

Hands-on experience with Flux Core or Pulse MIG welding processes.

TIG welding experience on relevant materials.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including welding symbols.

Fabrication experience, including fitting and assembling components prior to welding.

Experience using plasma cutters and track torches to cut materials.

Grinding and torch experience for material preparation and finishing.

Strong work ethic and positive, reliable attitude.

Ability to work safely with welding and cutting equipment in a production environment.

Work Environment
This position is part of a weekend shift running from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, with a four-day workweek structure and overtime optional through the week. The role is based in a fabrication and welding shop environment, working with MIG, Stick, Flux Core, and TIG welding equipment, plasma cutters, track torches, and grinding tools. The setting involves typical industrial conditions, including working around heat, sparks, metal, and fabrication equipment, and requires appropriate protective clothing and safety gear.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
