POSITION SUMMARY: The role of the Business Systems Analyst III is to analyze and document business processes and end user needs, contributing to the development or revision of applications, processes, documentation, and training. This is a senior-level position, often leading business analysis efforts across strategic initiatives, mentoring junior level analysts, and serving as a key liaison between business units and technical teams. This position will require a strong understanding of our DNA (Fiserv) platform.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Knowledgeable in lending and credit business practices.
· Ability to lead meetings and working sessions to capture and document business problems, needs and requirements.
· Facilitate the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders.
· Identify current- and future-state business processes.
· Develop artifacts to drive discussion to ensure that all business needs are captured in requirements.
· Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and participate in developing strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
· Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
· Advocate for customer needs when the customer is not present in day-to-day project activities.
· Create, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications.
· Able to identify business problems and opportunities and work with the business and technology teams to define options and participate in developing solutions.
· Understand business functions needed, the ability of current systems to meet those needs, and determine ways to close the gaps.
· Assist Project Manager to manage the backlog during the implementation phase and guide clients on scope creep and change management.
· Contribute during all phases of the development cycle (analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment).
· Strong understanding of key FPI (Financial Partners Inc) technology which enables effective collaboration with Technical and Architectural Leads to document, define and share detailed business requirements for strategic projects.
· Coordinates project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems design and validate proposed solutions .
· Other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :
· Manages assigned initiatives with minimal supervision and engages stakeholders across multiple departments to ensure alignment.
· At times, to possess the ability to work effectively on multiple projects.
· Proficient in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Lucid Chart, and other business analysis tools.
· Use of data analysis and AI-powered tools preferred (e.g. ChatGPT).
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
· Bachelor’s degree in related field, advanced degree is preferred. Typically, 7+ years of work experience as a Business Analyst with experience as a lead on cross-functional projects, responsible for stakeholder alignment, requirements management, and delivery support preferred.
· Strong business skills in banking or financial processes with demonstrated ability to identify and capture business problems/needs and translate into requirements.
· Demonstrated ability to use SQL and data analysis techniques to support business case development, requirements validations, and post-implementation reviews.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms.
· Knowledgeable in Agile methodology.
· Work independently and collaboratively to organize and manage multiple projects from inception to completion; manage multiple value streams and milestones between cross functional teams
· Mentor junior analysts by providing guidance, reviewing deliverables, and promoting best practices in business analysis.
· Microsoft 365 including Excel .
· Experience with system integration data mapping, Salesforce, nCino or loan accounting platform knowledge (e.g. DNA, Infor FSM) preferred.
