Position Summary
The Missions & Outreach Pastor at Thrive Church will lead efforts to share the Gospel locally, nationally, and globally through evangelism, community outreach, mission partnerships, and volunteer engagement. This role focuses on equipping church members to serve others, build relationships in the community, and support mission initiatives that reflect the church’s vision and values. A large part of the role will be as Executive Director of the Nixa Dream Center.
This leader will oversee existing initiatives, strengthen key partnerships, and build sustainable systems to expand impact. In addition, this role will provide leadership and oversight to Morning Star Academy, ensuring alignment, health, and operational effectiveness.
This role requires a high-capacity leader who can manage people, partnerships, and operations while continuing to grow outreach opportunities in the community.
Core Responsibilities
1. Lead Existing Outreach Initiatives
Oversee bi-weekly drive-through meal distributions; ensure excellence in planning, logistics, and volunteer execution; strengthen and expand relationships with current community partners providing goods and resources; maintain consistency, quality, and reliability of all outreach efforts.
2. Partnership Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for Convoy of Hope; coordinate pallet deliveries, distributions, and communication; build and maintain relationships with local organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders; identify and pursue new partnerships that increase reach and effectiveness
3. Team Leadership (Volunteers & Staff)
Recruit, train, and lead volunteer teams; oversee Outreach Center staff and ensure alignment and accountability; provide direct leadership and support to the Director of Morning Star Academy; create clear systems for scheduling, communication, and execution; develop team leaders to increase ownership and sustainability.
4. Fundraising & Resource Development
Develop and execute a fundraising strategy to support and grow the Outreach Center; engage donors, businesses, and partners in supporting the mission; identify grant opportunities and additional funding streams; ensure strong stewardship and reporting of resources.
5. Counseling & Care Coordination
Collaborate with Thrive Church’s counseling center and licensed counselors; help create pathways for individuals and families to access care and support; ensure alignment between outreach efforts and care resources.
6. Operations & Systems
Build and maintain organized systems for Outreach execution, Volunteer coordination, Resource distribution; manage budgets, inventory, and logistics with excellence; ensure compliance, safety, and consistency across all initiatives.
7. Vision Expansion (Future Development)
Develop a plan for launching an Outreach Center after-school program; assess community needs and create a sustainable model for implementation; build partnerships and infrastructure to support long-term growth.
8. Staff & Church Engagement
Attend Thrive Church; participate in weekly staff meetings; attend weekly staff chapel; participate in monthly DLT (Directional Leadership Team) meetings.
Qualifications
Leadership & Experience
Proven leadership experience in ministry, nonprofit, or community outreach; strong ability to manage teams, systems, and logistics; experience working with community partners and organizations; demonstrated ability to execute and sustain ongoing initiatives
Operational Strength
Highly organized and detail-oriented; strong problem-solving and decision-making ability; self-starter who takes initiative and follows through; comfortable managing multiple moving parts simultaneously.
Relational Capacity
Strong communication and relationship-building skills; ability to lead volunteers effectively and create team ownership; ability to work cross-functionally with church staff and community partners.
Preferred Experience
Experience with outreach programs or food distribution; fundraising or donor development experience; experience working with vulnerable populations; familiarity with counseling or care-based environments (collaborative, not clinical); team coordination and management experience.

Strengthen and streamline bi-weekly meal distributions; deepen partnership with Convoy of Hope and local organizations; build a consistent, reliable volunteer team structure; establish a clear and active fundraising pipeline; improve systems for communication, scheduling, and execution; successfully oversee the transition and alignment of Morning Star Academy under the Outreach Center; present a strategic plan for launching an after-school program.

This role is designed to support the mission and vision of the Nixa Dream Center. As the needs of the outreach evolve, responsibilities may be adjusted or expanded to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and maximize community impact.
