Job Overview

Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant is hiring an experienced Indian Food Cook / Head Chef for our restaurant at 1250 E Republic Rd, Springfield, MO. We need a main chef who can prepare authentic Indian food and help lead the kitchen.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook Indian dishes such as curries, biryani, tandoori items, appetizers, breads, rice, sauces, and vegetarian/non-vegetarian dishes.

- Maintain consistent taste, quality, portioning, and presentation.

- Prepare ingredients, marinades, spice mixes, and daily kitchen prep.

- Help plan daily kitchen work and guide other kitchen staff.

- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe.

- Follow food safety rules and proper food handling procedures.

- Manage busy lunch and dinner service with speed and accuracy.

- Help control waste, manage inventory, and keep food quality high.

Requirements

- Experience cooking Indian food is required.

- Experience as a main cook, lead cook, or head chef is preferred.

- Knowledge of Indian spices, curry bases, tandoori preparation, and kitchen prep.

- Must be dependable and able to work full-time.

- Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen.

- Positive attitude and ability to work with the team.

Full-time position. Pay is $45,000 to $55,000 per year based on experience.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
