Job Summary
The Maintenance role is responsible for performing scheduled equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, including lubrication and documentation of service activities. This ensures plant equipment operates safely and efficiently. The position also prioritizes and completes repair work, troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, and steam systems, and manages the ordering and inventory of parts and equipment as directed. This is a 1st shift role with a working schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Facility Expectation
- Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Ensure product quality expectations are met.
- Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
- Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
- Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
- Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
- Required to work overtime as specified by management.
- Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
Work Duties
- Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (i.e. fork truck, scissor lift, pumps/motors, ladders, etc.) in a manner so not to harm yourself, your fellow employees, and the equipment. Follow all established plant safety rules and Life Critical Standards.
- Ability to withstand heights such as tops of bins, dust collectors, legs and other equipment.
- Work and communicate with external contractors on a regular basis. Ensure contractors are following facility and Akralos safety rules.
- Complete assigned work orders and tasks in a timely manner.
- Be present on the production floor and communicate regularly with operators and management. When time allows, check in with operators to ensure equipment is running as expected and discuss any concerns they have.
- Document PMs, safety checks, and inspections legibly and timely.
- Must be able to ride the caged man lift safely and climb ladders.
- Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment. Follow all established plant safety rules and utilize LOTO as required.
- Be able to inspect and clean mixer and surge hopper and follow the designated schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Previous mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to act in a professional manner and adhere by Akralos Code of Conduct
- Technical training/equivalent experience in: Steam systems, compressors, drives, pneumatics, pumps, motors, drags, conveyors, bucket elevators, etc.
- Working knowledge of 3 phase 480-volt electrical systems
- Ability to perform cutting, welding, and fabrication
- Comfortable with basic computer navigation for use with HMIs and Operating systems
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and climb ladders
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, and gloves when required
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditions
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environment
- Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
- Good attitude and works well in team atmosphere.
- Handles other duties as required.
- Maintain excellent attendance.
- Good interpersonal skills required.
