Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with various accounting software, and a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization committed to excellence in financial management.

Duties

Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double entry bookkeeping and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation.
Support payroll management using systems such as ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Conduct tax preparation activities and maintain compliance with governmental accounting standards.
Utilize various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or Workday for data entry and reporting.
Ensure internal controls are maintained in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, audit preparations, and financial reporting projects.
Maintain detailed documentation of accounting processes and transactions for audit purposes.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or public accounting environments.
Extensive knowledge of accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting standards.
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
Proficiency in data entry tasks requiring high accuracy (10 key typing) and double entry bookkeeping.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and external auditors. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations.
