Full Job Description

Electronics Buyer / Procurement Specialist

Location: Springfield, VA (100% Onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Buyer / Procurement Specialist to join our team in Springfield, VA. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of electronic components required for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronic parts, supply chain management, and procurement best practices while working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure materials are available to support manufacturing schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Source and purchase electronic components including:
Integrated Circuits (ICs)
Resistors
Capacitors
Diodes
Semiconductors
Connectors
Other electronic components
Review engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) and generate purchase requisitions.
Prepare and process purchase orders for materials, equipment, and supplies.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and proactively track deliveries to ensure on-time material availability.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to prevent supply chain disruptions.
Resolve issues involving defective or non-conforming materials and coordinate corrective actions with vendors.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory data.
Support inventory management activities to ensure appropriate stock levels.
Perform additional procurement and purchasing duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Electronics or another technical discipline.
5–8 years of purchasing or procurement experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electronic components, including:
ICs
Semiconductors
Resistors
Capacitors
Diodes
Connectors
Experience reviewing engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including:
Excel
Word
Experience working with Adobe PDF.
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Made2Manage (M2M) ERP or similar ERP systems.
Experience supporting electronics manufacturing or contract manufacturing operations.
Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practices.

Work Environment

100% onsite in Springfield, VA.
Collaborative manufacturing and engineering environment.
Local candidates only.
