Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Convention Services Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of exceptional events and conferences. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life seamlessly while delivering outstanding guest experiences. Your expertise in event marketing, hospitality, and organizational management will drive successful conventions that leave lasting impressions. Join our dynamic team and help create memorable moments that elevate our venue’s reputation for excellence!

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with clients to understand their event needs, objectives, and budgets, providing expert guidance throughout the planning process
Coordinate all aspects of event setup, including catering, audiovisuals, décor, and room arrangements, ensuring alignment with client specifications
Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure the best terms while maintaining quality standards
Oversee event marketing efforts to promote upcoming conventions through various channels and maximize attendance
Manage budgets meticulously, tracking expenses and upselling additional services to enhance revenue opportunities
Ensure exceptional guest services by addressing client requests promptly and resolving any issues efficiently during events
Develop detailed event timelines and organizational plans to ensure smooth operations from setup through teardown

Skills

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable contracts and vendor agreements
Proven experience in event planning, management, and marketing within hospitality or related industries such as hotels or restaurants
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive experiences for clients and guests
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Superior organizational skills to handle multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Time management capabilities to meet tight deadlines and coordinate complex schedules
Knowledge of banquet operations, catering services, and event logistics including contracts and catering arrangements
Experience in hotel or hospitality environments preferred; banquet or restaurant experience is a plus
Familiarity with fundraising activities related to events is advantageous
