Role: Golang Lead / Golang Developer

Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Golang Lead / Developer candidates to support Centene Corporation’s healthcare technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Go, with strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL, API development, cloud-native engineering, and Agile delivery. This role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to build reliable solutions that support healthcare business needs.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and microservices using Golang.
· Build and enhance RESTful and/or gRPC APIs for enterprise applications.
· Develop efficient database queries, stored procedures, and data access logic using PostgreSQL.
· Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
· Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable software designs.
· Write clean, testable, and reusable code while following coding standards and best practices.
· Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and production support activities.
· Support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and containerized application delivery.
· Troubleshoot application issues, analyze root causes, and implement long-term fixes.
· For Lead roles, guide developers, review technical designs, drive delivery planning, and ensure engineering best practices across the team.
Required Skills and Experience
· 8+ years of overall software development experience for Lead roles; 5+ years for Developer roles.
· Strong hands-on programming experience with Go / Golang.
· Experience developing microservices, APIs, and distributed backend systems.
· Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, joins, stored procedures/functions, and performance tuning.
· Good understanding of Go concepts such as structs, interfaces, slices, maps, goroutines, channels, error handling, and concurrency patterns.
· Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
· Experience with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
· Experience writing unit tests and supporting quality gates for code coverage and build validation.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Pay: $59.07 - $71.14 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in St. Louis, MO
