Full Job Description

Legal and Information Processing Assistant for solo elder law attorney, between 18-22 hours per week, in-office (2-3 day work days per week). Hours will be dependent on employee's goals for work, but will be a set schedule. There is no option for remote work in this position.

Personal Skills Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with clients facing difficult circumstances- empathy required.
Instinct for family dynamics.
Professional appearance and demeanor.

Professional Skills Requirements:

At least one year in a law office required within the past five years.
Excellent multi-phone and organizational skills.
Prefer experience with an electronic case management system, such as MyCase, Clio or Time Matters.

Primary Job Duties and Key Skills:

Primary point of contact between potential and current clients. Answer multi-line phone system, take messages.
Coordinator intake process, including working with potential clients on initial consultation meeting arrangements, identifying caller's needs, determine if caller's needs can be met at our firm, open files, facilitate relationship with potential client from initial point of contact through opening of the file.
Information processor: Must be able to manage multiple email accounts, multiple conference room schedules, and juggle constant in-flow of information from various sources, such as mail, telephone, facsimile, email, case management system, verbal instructions by attorney, et cetera.
Prepare conference rooms for guests and greet clients and other guests.
Clerical work, including opening and closing files, processing mail, scanning documents, e-filing.
Other tasks, as assigned. Must be a team player.
Must be a notary or become a notary within two months of hire.

Job Type: Part-time, up to 24 hours per week, in-office (no work from home opportunities).

Benefits: Health insurance reimbursement (HSAQRA program), SIMPLE Plan retirement with employer contribution, six holidays with unofficial two additional if occurring on a regular work day, vacation days after one year.

Required experience: NO LESS THAN one year in a law office. Please do not apply if you have not worked in a law firm of any size and met the one-year requirement.

Required education: Associates
