Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - School BasedLocation: St. Louis City Schools (Multiple Sites) Openings: 5 Schedule: School-Based, In-Person Position Hours: 32.5 Hours per Week Contract Length: 9 Months Start Date: August 10, 2026Position OverviewWe are seeking compassionate and flexible Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) to support students across St. Louis City schools. This is an in-person role providing therapy services to students with a variety of communication needs.

Candidates must be adaptable and willing to work at one or more nearby school sites based on student caseload and district needs.ScheduleSLPAs work 32.5 hours per week and may select up to two preferred schedules from the following options: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM8:00 AM - 3:00 PM9:00 AM - 4:00 PMImportant Flexibility RequirementPlease Note: Flexibility is essential for this role. SLPAs serve the students of St. Louis City Schools and may be assigned to more than one school location depending on caseload needs. If multiple sites are required, assignments will be at nearby schools.

Candidates should be comfortable adapting to changes in schedules, locations, or student assignments as needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.Implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals.Support students with communication, language, articulation, and related speech needs.Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records within the district's charting system.Collaborate with Speech Language Pathologists, teachers, administrators, and support staff.Monitor student progress and communicate observations to supervising clinicians.Maintain compliance with district policies and special education requirements.Support positive student engagement and learning outcomes.Student PopulationAll grade levels served.Primarily elementary school placements.Majority of students within the Special Education population have: Learning DisabilitiesOther Health Impairments (OHI), including ADHDCaseload InformationAverage caseload: 35-50 studentsCaseload size varies based on service minutes.Maximum caseload will not exceed 50 students.Interview ProcessClient interview requiredVirtual interview conducted via ZoomQualificationsAssociate's degree or higher from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program.Current SLPA licensure/certification as required by the state.School-based experience preferred, but not required.Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently while following the direction of a supervising Speech Language Pathologist.Commitment to supporting diverse student populations.Why Join Us?Make a meaningful impact on students' communication and academic success.School-year schedule with holidays and breaks.Opportunity to work with a collaborative team serving students across St. Louis City.Flexible scheduling options.Multiple openings available with a start date for the 2026-2027 school year.Apply today to help students build the communication skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
