Private Chef – Full-Time, In-Home

Westport, Connecticut

A private family in Westport, CT is seeking a talented and experienced full-time in-home chef to join our household. We're looking for someone who's passionate about cooking, meticulous about ingredients, and able to create thoughtful, nutritious meals tailored to our family's tastes and lifestyle. This is a long-term role with a kind, low-key household that values quality, consistency, and discretion.

About the Role

Plan and prepare daily meals for the family: Lunch and Dinner / and occasionally meal prepping Breakfast
Develop rotating weekly menus in collaboration with the principal, balancing nutrition, variety, and seasonality
Source high-quality ingredients from local farms, specialty markets, and trusted purveyors
Accommodate the family's dietary preferences. For example: age appropriate meals for a young child / specific dietary approach, e.g., whole-foods, low-sugar, Mediterranean etc.
Manage grocery shopping, pantry inventory, and kitchen supplies
Maintain a spotless, organized kitchen, pantry and refridgerator
Prepare meals for occasional small dinner parties or family gatherings (typically 1x per month)
Coordinate with other household staff as needed

What We're Looking For

Minimum 3–5+ years of experience as a private chef or in a high-end professional kitchen (fine dining, hotel, or established private household)
Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
Strong knowledge of nutrition and clean, ingredient-driven cooking
[Experience cooking for young children / families with infants and toddlers] a strong plus
Comfortable across multiple cuisines and adaptable to evolving preferences
Discreet, warm, and professional — at ease in a private home and respectful of the family's privacy
Excellent organization and time management; takes initiative without being asked
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Food handler's / ServSafe certification a plus
Background Check Required
NDA required

Schedule

Full-time, (Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional weekends)
Approximate hours: [11:00 AM – 7:00 PM] with flexibility around the family's schedule
Live-out position; must be able to commute reliably to Westport
